First step to any change? Being honest about the change you need to make. The Econfession challenge asked people to fess up to their own not so eco-friendly habits as the first step to doing better. Each confession had an immediate positive effect – with Ocean Bottle pledging to stop 10 plastic bottles from entering our ocean for every #Econfession made.
The Results
After the campaign launched, the #Econfession Hashtag Challenge was trending on TikTok with 40 million views and their TikTok channel followers increased by 220%. Organic search for Ocean Bottle increased by 54% during the two-week campaign window.
The publicly submitted #econfessions have already stopped 6,560 plastic bottles from ever entering our ocean.
